This cause is very near and dear to my heart. Huntington's Disease has affected my family for several generations. I grew up with my grandfather being ill and several other of my family members.

My mother was also diagnosed with HD several years ago at the young age of 45. As her primary caregiver, I've watched her degeneration process over the past 10 years and it hasn't been easy to watch her health decline. To see someone you love dearly lose the ability to think and reason, to lose control of their motor function and now to be bedridden at 55 is heartbreaking. There is and has been so much out of my control and I have sought the help of The Huntington's Society throughout this process to help ease the transitions. They offer many programs for the families and caregivers of those affected, as well as for people who
are HD positive.

Please join me at the Run for HD on June 28th, 2015. Help us reach our goal and continue to help the HD community in their research and efforts!

Namaste
