Meditation with chanting can help trigger our rest & digest function of our nervous system faster than simple meditation alone .
Why ? Because chanting better stimulates the vagus nerve (your literal mind-body connecter) that stretches from deep within the brain stem and innervates all your internal organs . When we chant it creates a vibration that stimulates the vagus nerve and helps switch from the 'fight , flight & freeze' (SNS) to our 'rest & digest' (PNS) allowing our bodies and mind to function on optimal levels .
